This time I decided to compare two slide film stocks from Rollei. Some people say it is the same emulsion. So I took these two rolls to a park with my wife to do a little fun photo shooting.
The first thing to notice that the backing paper is different, not a big deal, yet the first difference.
The second thing you’ll see having your film developed that CR200 has Rollei CR200 marking on the edge, while Crossbird has Rollei CR.
But even before that, you’ll most probably see that slides are quite different. In my experiment, Crossbird produced more saturated look, while CR200 yielded more pastel low contrast tones.
While I kinda like CR200 skin tones I don’t like how it renders the green color in particular.
All in all, it was an interesting and fun experience of a medium format photo session since I’ve never used more than one roll on one subject straight. I definitely should do this more often.
